First Impressions

Walking into City Studio am Marienplatz, you immediately get that “this is exactly what I needed” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — just clean lines, smart design, and everything where it should be. The lobby has this understated modern vibe that feels more like a well-designed friend’s place than a typical hotel. You know what I mean? Sometimes hotels can feel a bit sterile, but this one actually has personality.

Location & Getting Around

The location is honestly fantastic — you’re in Stuttgart-Süd, which locals will tell you is one of the better neighborhoods to stay in. Stuttgart can be tricky to navigate if you don’t know the area, but from here you can walk to the city center without breaking a sweat. The Marienplatz connection isn’t just marketing speak either; you’re genuinely close to where things happen. What I really appreciated was the parking situation — they have private spots on-site, which is actually a big deal in this part of the city. Trust me, you’ll understand why once you see how packed the street parking gets.

The Studio Setup

The room itself is what they call a studio, and it works really well. There’s a proper kitchenette that’s not just for show — I mean, you could actually cook a decent meal if you wanted to. The space feels bigger than it probably is, thanks to smart layout choices and good natural light. Everything’s been thought through, from the USB ports exactly where you need them to storage that makes sense for how people actually live. It’s the kind of place where you settle in quickly and don’t spend your time fighting with weird design choices.

The Neighborhood Experience

Stuttgart-Süd has this nice residential feel that I wasn’t expecting. There are local cafes within a few blocks where you’ll hear more German than English — which honestly makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real city rather than just the tourist version. The area gets busy during the day but quiets down in the evenings, so you get the best of both worlds. I noticed quite a few couples staying here, and it makes sense — the whole setup feels intimate without being isolated.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how everything just works without drama. The staff knows their stuff, the location delivers on its promises, and you’re not constantly dealing with little annoyances that can derail a trip. Recent guests have been rating the location particularly highly, and after staying here, I get it — you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the chaos to actually relax. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’ve found something good rather than just booked something convenient.

  Es ist eine süße kleine Wohnung mit einem schönen Balkon. Es ist alles vorhanden was man benötigt. Der Kühlschrank ist auch mit einem Gefrierfach versehen.

  Tolle Aussicht und toller Balkon mit guten Sitzgelegenheiten und Tisch.
  Sitzgelegenheit / Sofa innen sehr gut.
  Das Bett ist bequem, für 2 schlanke Personen gerade noch breit genug
  
  What could be improved: Die Unterkunft hat einige der gelisteten Einrichtungen nicht vorhanden.
  Kaffeemaschine war benutzt und nicht gereinigt, zudem teilweise defekt und ausgelaufen.
  Hier wäre zudem eine kleine haltbare Milch im Kühlschrank als Gimmick doch nett, damit es nicht beim Espresso bleiben muss.
  
  Geschirrtuch und Spüllappen waren nicht frisch und noch nass; die Bad- und Händehandtücher hatten zumindest auffällig fusselige, weiße Rückstände.
  
  Pflegeprodukte wie angegeben waren nicht vorhanden, Shampoo ebenfalls nicht. Offener, benutzter Duschschaum in Damenduftrichtung war aber vorhanden. Ein gesplitterter Becher stand auch im Bad – hier war unklar, was man damit tun sollte (1 Zahnputzbecher vielleicht).
  
  Esstischgarnitur innen für 2 Leute nicht vorhanden – unklar, wie man als Pärchen zusammen essen würde.
  
  Kommunikation mit Gastgeber durchschnittlich; auf spätere Anfrage zu früherem Check-In wurde nicht mehr reagiert

  Sehr gut war die Parkmöglichkeit in der Garage und die Sauberkeit.
  
  What could be improved: Im Inventar wurde eine Kaffeemaschine angegeben. Tatsächlich handelte es sich um eine Nespresso-maschine, die bestimmte Kapseln benötigt. Wir hatten normalen Filterkaffee dabei, weil wir eine "normale" Kaffeemaschine erwartet haben. Da unsere Anreise am Sonntagabend stattfand, gab es keine Möglichkeit löslichen Kaffee zu kaufen und wir mussten unser Frühstück außerhalb einnehmen. Das hatten wir so nicht geplant, da wir um 9 Uhr in Stuttgart einen Termin wahrnehmen mussten. Für mich als Kaffeejunkie war das sehr deprimierend.
  Unsere Empfehlung wäre das Inventar konkret zu benennen.
  Ein Fernseher wäre auch nicht schlecht.
