You know what? The Comfort Boardinghouse on Albstrasse totally caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. I was expecting your typical corporate hotel setup, but this place actually feels like someone put real thought into making travelers comfortable for longer stays. The moment you walk in, there’s this relaxed vibe that’s hard to pin down… maybe it’s the way the lobby doesn’t scream “HOTEL” at you, or how the staff genuinely seem interested in helping rather than just checking boxes.

Here’s the thing about the location – Albstrasse might not ring bells for first-time Stuttgart visitors, but it’s honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood rather than tourist central. You’re still close enough to hop on public transport (the nearest S-Bahn connection is maybe a 7-minute walk), but you get to experience this quieter residential side of Stuttgart that most people miss. I actually loved the morning routine of grabbing coffee from the little café down the street before heading into the city center. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious – I mean, we’re talking about Germany where hotel rooms can feel like shoeboxes, but here you actually have room to spread out your stuff. The kitchenette situation is clutch if you’re staying more than a couple nights; there’s something satisfying about being able to make your own breakfast instead of hunting for overpriced hotel food.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re living somewhere temporarily. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes (honestly, why is this still a problem in 2024?), the shower pressure is solid, and – this might sound weird – but the curtains actually block out light properly, which is a godsend if you’re dealing with jet lag. The 7.9 rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers on everything it promises without the pretense. I did notice the elevator can be a bit slow during busy checkout times, and the parking situation requires a bit of advance planning, but these are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things. If you’re looking for a place in Stuttgart that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel pit stop – especially if you’re in town for business or an extended stay – the Comfort Boardinghouse really nails that balance between comfort and authenticity.

  Spacious rooms, easiest access to the room, the elevator can be entered from the street, making luggage carry way easier.

  Clean and comfortable with a range of appliances. Easy access and parking available as needed. The host who welcomed us gave us a thorough orientation even as to where the laundry was. Fantastic mostly.
