You know what? The name “Exotic Tropical Palace” had me expecting something completely over-the-top, but this little gem on Gomaringer Str. actually surprised me in the best way. I mean, it’s tucked away in Degerloch – which honestly most visitors to Stuttgart never even think to explore – but that’s exactly why I loved it. The whole area has this residential vibe that feels authentically German, not touristy at all. You’re literally staying in a real neighborhood where people walk their dogs and grab groceries, which I found way more charming than being stuck in some sterile hotel district downtown.

The place itself is on the ground floor (Erdgeschoss, as they properly call it), and while it’s technically a 3-star spot, whoever’s running it clearly cares about the details. The tropical theme could’ve been cheesy, but they’ve done it with this sort of understated elegance – think more “subtle nods to paradise” than “plastic flamingos everywhere.” What really got me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re still connected to everything. The S-Bahn connections from Degerloch are actually fantastic – you can be in Stuttgart’s center in maybe 15 minutes, but when you come back at night, you’re escaping all that urban noise. I slept better there than I have at fancy hotels in the Mitte, honestly.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: parking around there is way easier than in central Stuttgart (you’ll thank me for this tip), and there’s this incredible view situation happening that nobody mentions in the typical descriptions. Degerloch sits up on these hills, so depending on which way your room faces, you might catch glimpses of the valley below. Also – and this might sound random – but the whole area smells like those linden trees in late spring, which just adds to that “hidden retreat” feeling. The staff seemed genuinely happy to share local recommendations too, not just the standard tourist stuff. They pointed me toward this bakery about two blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise. Look, it’s not going to wow you with marble lobbies or infinity pools, but sometimes you want a place that feels more like staying with a friend who has impeccable taste than checking into a corporate hotel machine. If you’re the type who appreciates finding those spots that locals would actually choose – rather than just where tour groups end up – then this place absolutely delivers on that promise.

  Staying at the Exotic Tropical Palace in Degerloch was truly a highlight of my trip. The apartment is beautifully designed with a tropical flair that makes it feel warm, cozy, and totally unique – like a little island retreat tucked away in Stuttgart.
  
  Everything was spotless when I arrived, and you can tell the host really cares about the details. The bed was super comfortable, the space smelled fresh, and there were even some thoughtful touches like soft lighting, cozy blankets, and a well-equipped kitchen.
  
  The neighborhood is quiet and safe, and it's easy to reach the city center by public transport. I really appreciated being able to relax in such a peaceful environment after a day of exploring.

  Mi estancia en Exotic tropical palace ha sido excelente. Se nota el cuidado en cada detalle: el apartamento es luminoso, está impecablemente limpio y decorado con muy buen gusto, lo que genera una atmósfera muy tranquila y agradable. La ubicación es ideal, en una zona verde y bien comunicada, perfecta para descansar sin estar lejos del centro. Todo ha sido muy cómodo y funcional, con todo lo necesario para una estancia relajada.
