The name says it all – “gemütliche” really does capture that cozy, lived-in feeling you get the moment you walk into this old building on Florianstraße. I mean, Stuttgart-Ost isn’t the flashiest district, but honestly, that’s exactly why I loved staying here. It feels like actual Stuttgart, not some tourist bubble.

The apartment sits right in this charming residential area where you’ll hear church bells in the morning (not annoyingly early, don’t worry) and smell fresh bread from the bakery down the street. Ostendplatz is maybe a three-minute walk – there’s this little weekly market there that most visitors completely miss, but the locals line up for the best Swabian pretzels you’ll find outside of someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. The building itself has that classic Altbau character with high ceilings and those gorgeous old windows that actually open wide (you’d be surprised how rare that is in some places). Parking can be a bit of a treasure hunt on the street, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient.

What really won me over was how thoughtfully set up everything was – the owner clearly understands what travelers actually need. The kitchen has proper coffee equipment (not just those awful pod machines), and there are enough power outlets that you won’t be crawling behind furniture to charge your phone. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which is perfect if you’re planning to explore the city during the day but want to actually sleep at night. Getting into the city center is straightforward – the U-Bahn connection puts you in Königstraße in about fifteen minutes, though honestly, I found myself spending more time just wandering around Stuttgart-Ost than I expected. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room. The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails everything that actually matters when you’re traveling.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Stuttgart at least two months ahead for major events like auto exhibitions or ballet season, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near attractions.

  The location is ok, it's a 30 minute walk to the center (up to the hill), but there is a metro nearby

  Ήταν σε κεντρική τοποθεσία με εύκολη πρόσβαση στα μέσα και σε καταστήματα. Σε ήσυχη γειτονιά.
  
  What could be improved: Μείναμε 5 βράδια και είχε μόνο ένα χαρτί υγείας. Χρειαστήκαμε να αγοράσουμε. Δεν είχε υλικά για καφέ, τσάι, αλλά είχε εξοπλισμό. Τα μαξιλάρια ήταν ακατάλληλα. Από την ντουλάπα έλειπε ένα χερούλι. Στην άλλη ντουλάπα υπήρχε σκουπίδι, το περιτύλιγμα από φαγωμένη σοκολάτα.
