Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking into Holiday Inn – the niu, Kettle Stuttgart Vaihingen by IHG, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical corporate hotel. The lobby has this modern, almost industrial vibe that feels fresh — honestly, it’s what I’d expect from a boutique place rather than a chain property. The staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, which isn’t always a given at three-star hotels. There’s something about the whole setup that just works, and the attention to detail is immediately apparent from the moment you arrive.
Location & Getting Around
Vaihingen might not be the first district that comes to mind when you think of Stuttgart, but hear me out — it’s actually pretty smart to stay here. You’re close enough to the city center without dealing with all the tourist crowds, and the S-Bahn connections are solid. Couples seem to really get this location and rate it super high, probably because it feels more residential and authentic. Plus, there’s decent parking right at the hotel, which is honestly a relief if you’re driving in Germany. The neighborhood offers a genuine local experience that many travelers appreciate.
The Room Experience
The room design leans into that whole “niu” concept — it’s minimalist but not sterile, if that makes sense. Everything feels purposeful rather than just thrown together. The bed was actually comfortable (not always guaranteed at this price point), and the bathroom had good water pressure. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — proper lighting for reading, enough outlets where you need them, that sort of thing that shows someone actually thought about how people use hotel rooms. The overall layout maximizes comfort without unnecessary frills.
Breakfast & Practical Stuff
The breakfast buffet is where this place really surprised me. It’s not just the usual sad continental spread — there’s actually variety and quality here. Fresh bread, decent coffee, and they seem to refresh things regularly rather than letting everything sit under heat lamps. You can tell they’re trying to do something a bit different from the standard Holiday Inn formula. The whole breakfast area has good natural light too, which makes morning feel less institutional. The dining experience sets a positive tone for the rest of your day.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being part of a reliable chain with having its own personality. You get the consistency and service standards you’d expect from IHG, but without feeling like you’re in some generic box. The location works especially well if you’re here for business in the Vaihingen area, or if you just prefer staying somewhere that feels more like where locals actually live. It’s one of those hotels where you can see why people come back — not because it’s flashy, but because it just does the basics really well and delivers genuine value.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Stuttgart at least two months ahead for major events like auto exhibitions or ballet season, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near attractions.

The high score I gave for location was based on close proximity to family home not central Stuttgard. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size.
What could be improved: Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was no kettle! As an alternative a coffee machine could have been provided in the common areas, but nothing!Good – Pham from Germany – June 22, 2025 (7/10)
The hotel and room give you what you need, nothing more nothing less
Wonderful – Elyzaveta from Poland – May 25, 2025 (9/10)
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean and cozy, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from.
What could be improved: However, there were a few downsides. The hotel is located right next to tram tracks, and our room faced them directly, so it was quite noisy during the day — luckily, the trams don’t run at night, so we could still sleep well.
Also, we were surprised to find out that staying with a cat cost €25, even though we stayed just one night. Parking is €20 per night — a bit pricey, but it’s a secure, closed parking area.To be recommended – Peter from Sweden – March 15, 2025 (8/10)
Friendly staff in the evening

The hotel is located close to a UBahn station. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The air conditioning and lifts are welcome features.
