Hotel Description

First Impressions

Hotel Geissler sits on a quiet stretch of Waiblinger Strasse in Bad Cannstatt, and honestly, it’s one of those places that grows on you the moment you walk through the doors. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not — instead, it focuses on getting the fundamentals absolutely right. The lobby feels welcoming without being flashy, and there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole setup that puts you at ease immediately.

Location & Neighborhood

Bad Cannstatt is actually Stuttgart’s largest district, though many visitors overlook it in favor of the city center. That’s their loss, really — you’re in one of the most authentic parts of the city here. The mineral springs that made this area famous are still bubbling away nearby, and you can walk to the Neckar River in about ten minutes. What I particularly appreciate is how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot (they rate the location 8.4 out of 10), probably because it strikes that perfect balance between being close to Stuttgart’s attractions while maintaining a more relaxed, residential feel.

The Room Experience

The rooms at Hotel Geissler are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged — exactly what you want after a day of exploring Stuttgart. Nothing feels cramped or afterthought-ish, which can be an issue with some three-star properties. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I mean, you’ll actually sleep well), and the bathrooms are modern enough to feel fresh. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets for your devices.

Breakfast & Practical Perks

The buffet breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be for a three-star hotel. There’s a solid selection of German staples alongside international options, and the coffee is actually decent — not always a given at hotels in this price range. But here’s the real winner: free private parking. If you’re driving in Stuttgart, you’ll understand why this is such a big deal. Parking in German cities can be both expensive and frustrating, so having a guaranteed spot takes a huge weight off your shoulders.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests consistently rate Hotel Geissler’s location at 8.2 out of 10, and after staying here, I get it. You’re close enough to reach Stuttgart’s main attractions without dealing with the noise and crowds of the city center every single night. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay smooth, and there’s something to be said for a hotel that knows its strengths and delivers on them consistently. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Stuttgart — it’s just trying to be a really good base for exploring the city, and it succeeds.

Early hotels booking in Stuttgart requires advance planning during peak exhibition seasons when visitors flock to see the city’s cutting-edge automotive innovations and cultural performances.

Reviews

  • Very good stay – John33 from United Kingdom – July 5, 2025 (8/10)

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staying in Room 32 for two nights beyond the facade, which did not impress, we found a very comfortable and functional space. Plenty of windows provided natural light and ventilation during a hot spell.
The hotel is situated just outside the main city centre but boasts free parking and is very close proximity to public transport, allowing a single transfer into the city for 2€. There are also some really nice bars and eateries close by

Good location, easy to access via train/subway, and easy to walk to central area of the neighborhood.

What could be improved: It is a small hotel so you don’t have 24h bar, for example, but plenty of options nearby.
