You know what? Hotel Neuwirtshaus surprised me in the best possible way. I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to this place on Schwieberdinger Straße, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s tucked away in Stammheim, which most tourists completely skip over, but that’s actually part of its charm. The building has this understated, almost residential feel that makes you wonder if you’re in the right spot until you see the subtle signage.

The thing about staying here is that you’re getting an authentic slice of Stuttgart life without the tourist markup. Stammheim isn’t flashy – it’s where actual Stuttgarters live and work – but you’re only about 15 minutes from the city center by S-Bahn, and honestly, sometimes it’s nice to come back to somewhere that feels more like a neighborhood than a tourist zone. The staff here genuinely seem to care about getting things right, which you can’t always say about bigger hotels. I mean, the woman at reception actually remembered my name the second day, and she gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t just the obvious choices. The rooms are clean and comfortable in that no-frills German way – you won’t find fancy marble bathrooms or Egyptian cotton sheets, but everything works properly and the beds are surprisingly good. There’s decent soundproofing too, which matters because you’re on a fairly busy street.

What really won me over was the breakfast situation. They’ve got this spread that hits all the German classics – proper bread rolls, local cheeses, good coffee – and it’s served until a reasonable hour, not some ridiculous 9 AM cutoff. The dining room gets nice morning light, and you can actually sit and plan your day without feeling rushed. Parking was straightforward, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Stuttgart by car will appreciate. The whole place just feels… sensible, I guess. Like someone put thought into making it work well rather than just look impressive. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’ll treat you right, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. For the price point, especially compared to what you’d pay closer to the Hauptbahnhof or in Mitte, it’s solid value. I’d definitely stay again, particularly if I wanted to explore some of the less touristy parts of the city or if I was traveling with a car and needed easy parking.

  Everything. Put up a big TV to watch football and let us pay for beer the next day. Week travelling and a week in a great location. Near a station and main roads. Could not hear them.

  The owners and staff were as good as it's possible to be, the restaurant served some really good food.I was also able to use the hotel laundry for 5 euros.

  L'hôtel est parfaitement placé à 10 minutes à pied du Musée Porsche et d'un arrêt de train qui amène directement au centre ville. Il est directement à côté de l'autoroute et pourtant on n'entend absolument pas la circulation.

  Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst. Op loopafstand van het Porsche museum. Tegenover een grote parkeerplaats die bij het hotel hoort. Grote fijne kamer. Geen overlast van het verkeer. En voor het geval dat, liggen er oordopjes op de kamer. Gezellige 'biergarten' met voldoende keuze op de menukaart. Kortom, wij hebben er heerlijk geslapen, gegeten en gedronken voor een redelijke prijs, een aanrader!
