The place sits on Mahdentalstraße in Stuttgart’s Vaihingen district, and honestly, if you’re not familiar with this part of the city, you might wonder why anyone would stay out here. But here’s the thing – you’re actually in a pretty sweet spot that most tourists never discover.

The hotel feels more like a well-kept secret than a destination, if that makes sense. It’s tucked into this quiet residential area where you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic (well, mostly). The Glems river runs nearby – hence the name – and there’s something genuinely peaceful about the whole setup. I mean, it’s still Stuttgart, so you’re not exactly in the Black Forest, but the contrast with the city center is real. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place – clean, comfortable beds, decent bathrooms – but nothing that’ll blow your mind. What I appreciated was the attention to small details, like actually good coffee in the rooms and windows that open properly, which is rarer than it should be these days.

I had this spätzle dish that – look, I’ve eaten a lot of spätzle in my time – was genuinely memorable. The staff seems to know their regulars, which tells you something about the kind of place this is. Parking’s free and easy, which anyone who’s driven in Stuttgart will appreciate immediately. You’re about a 15-minute drive from the main train station, maybe 20 in traffic, and the S-Bahn connections aren’t terrible once you figure out the system. That 7.8 rating feels about right – this isn’t luxury, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works without drama. If you’re doing business in the southern parts of Stuttgart or just want to experience the city like someone who actually lives here rather than a tourist checking boxes, Kulinarium an der Glems delivers exactly what it promises.   We have stayer here on our way to Slovenia. Very clean and family friendly hotel which we enjoyed a lot. Nice restaurant with typical German cuisine!

  The property is conveniently located if you’re coming from the highway. It has a playground which was great for my daughter and a restaurant on the ground floor, so we didn’t have to drive again in the evening to get dinner. Breakfast start as early at 6:30am, which was perfect for us as we had to start driving very early in the morning.
  
  What could be improved: Staff were not very proactive in informing us about the kids menu options and we had to ask if that was available. But it’s just a small detail that can be improved, nothing that made our stay less pleasant.

  Very peaceful the rooms were separate to the main house which was good The restaurant was busy and the food was great. The room was perfect for our stay.

  The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was excellent.
  
  What could be improved: I could smell the property’s goats in the hallway. The enclosure shares a glass block wall with the hallway, some of the blocks were tilted open, so it smelled like goats in the hallway. The room itself was just fine.
