Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking up to List Five – Your British Guesthouse, you immediately get why they chose that name — there’s something distinctly British about the whole setup, even though you’re right in the heart of Stuttgart-Süd. The building sits on quiet Liststraße, and honestly, I was surprised by how peaceful it felt despite being so close to everything. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies, but instead wins you over with genuine charm and attention to detail.
Location & Neighborhood
Stuttgart-Süd is actually one of my favorite parts of the city — it’s got this perfect mix of residential calm and urban energy that’s hard to find elsewhere. You’re close enough to walk to the city center when you want the action, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. The couples who stay at List Five seem to really get this balance — I mean, they rated the location a solid 9.0, which tells you something. There’s decent public transport nearby, but honestly, having that private parking on-site is a game-changer if you’re driving (and let’s be real, parking in Stuttgart can be a nightmare).
The Rooms & British Touch
The rooms lean into that British guesthouse vibe without going overboard with the theme. You know what I mean — it’s not like staying in a cheesy pub, but more like visiting a well-traveled friend who happens to have excellent taste. The furnishings feel thoughtful rather than cookie-cutter, and there’s this attention to comfort that you notice in the little things. The beds are properly comfortable (not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get), and the bathrooms are modern enough to feel fresh while keeping that cozy guesthouse character intact.
Service & Atmosphere
What really sets this place apart is how the staff manages to be helpful without being intrusive. It’s that British hospitality thing — polite, efficient, but not hovering around you constantly. They seem to genuinely know Stuttgart well, so when you ask for restaurant recommendations or directions, you get actual local insights rather than the usual tourist trap suggestions. The whole atmosphere feels more like staying with knowledgeable hosts than checking into a standard hotel, which I suppose is exactly what they’re going for with the guesthouse concept.
Why Guests Love It
That 8.9 rating isn’t an accident — List Five – Your British Guesthouse hits this sweet spot between personality and practicality that’s surprisingly hard to find. It’s the kind of place where couples can have a romantic city break without dealing with the chaos of a massive hotel, but still get all the amenities they actually need. The location really is the star here though — being in Stuttgart-Süd means you can explore the city properly during the day, then retreat to somewhere that actually feels like a neighborhood rather than a tourist zone. Plus, that private parking situation is honestly worth its weight in gold if you’re planning to explore the wider Baden-Württemberg region.
Best hotels in Stuttgart range from charming boutique properties in the historic city center to elegant modern hotels with stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and Swabian landscape.

Outstanding – Suri from Mongolia – January 25, 2025 (10/10)
Everything. It was the first experience for us to stay in a guesthouse. We felt almost like being at home. The bed, pillow and blanket were comfortable for good sleep. All necessary items were provided in the room. Taking the bus #43, which stop is just 5 minutes walk to get the bus, we were able to reach all nearby metro stations and most shopping places around Rathause. Thank you. We are very satisfied with your service.
