When I first walked up to Stuttgart City Apartment B on Breitscheidstraße, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the exterior — it’s tucked into a pretty typical residential building in Stuttgart-West. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide in plain sight. This four-star property surprised me right from the start, and I mean that in the best way possible. The entrance feels more like you’re visiting a friend’s well-appointed apartment than checking into a sterile hotel, which actually sets the tone perfectly for what’s inside.

Here’s something most tourists don’t realize — Stuttgart-West is where you want to be if you’re planning to actually experience the city rather than just pass through it. I’ve stayed in the city center before, and while it’s fine, this neighborhood gives you that authentic German residential vibe without sacrificing accessibility. You’re walking distance from the main attractions, but you’re also surrounded by local cafes and shops that aren’t trying to fleece tourists. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.2, and honestly, I can see why. There’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets in the evening.

The Space Itself

The room — well, it’s more like a mini-apartment really — feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional. What struck me most was how they’ve managed to make efficient use of space without it feeling cramped. The kitchen area is compact but actually usable (I made coffee there every morning), and the sleeping area feels separate enough that you don’t feel like you’re living in one big box. The furnishings lean modern without being cold, and there are enough personal touches that you don’t feel like you’re in some corporate housing situation.

Getting Around and Practical Stuff

Look, I’m not going to sugarcoat it — parking in this area can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but that’s pretty much true anywhere in Stuttgart that’s worth staying. The public transport connections more than make up for it though. I found myself walking to most places during the day and using the S-Bahn when I wanted to venture further out. The staff (well, the person I dealt with during check-in) was refreshingly straightforward — no over-the-top hospitality theater, just helpful information when you need it.

After spending several nights here, I get why this place consistently scores well with visitors. It’s that sweet spot between independence and service — you have your own space to spread out and live a bit, but you’re not completely on your own if something goes wrong. The location really is the star here, and recent guests have been rating it 8.5 for good reason. You feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than some tourist bubble, which makes the whole Stuttgart experience more genuine. For the price point and the freedom it gives you, it’s honestly a smart choice if you want to explore the city at your own pace.

  Everything was clean. The room is comfortable and has everything you need. Good location not far away from the center and in few meters there is a Lidl supermarket.

  What could be improved: Checkin and checkout times are 3 pm and 10 pm respectively which is too far apart I think. You don't get the value for your money and frankly 10 am is just to early to checkout if you are planning for a night out with a group of friends. They were not flexible at all when we asked for a later checkout as well which normally properties are.

  When you enter the apartment, you go down one floor. The room is very claustrophobic. The pillow they give you is so thin that you would feel the same if you slept without a pillow. It was cold and the duvet they gave you was very thin. So I can't say it was a duvet 🙂 Most importantly, the landlord was very rude. I will never stay there again.

  Alles war sauber und so wie abgebildet. Ich hatte Fragen zum Check in und mir wurde am Telefon sehr freundlich geholfen!!
  Ich mochte die Ausstattung der Küche.. Kleinigkeiten, die selbstverständlich sein sollten, es aber meist leider nicht sind. Es gab einen Schäler, eine Schere, Pfannenwender, Spülmittel und Schwamm und verschiedene andere hilfreiche Dinge. Auch ein Bügeleisen und Bügelbrett, zusätzliche Handseife und ein Fön sind mir positiv aufgefallen, genauso wie der Wasserdruck in der Dusche. In den meisten Unterkünften und Hotelzimmern ist er zu schwach. Was, wenn man längeres Haar hat und versucht den Schaum auszuspülen, hinderlich ist. Das war hier sehr angenehm!
  Die Gegend ist angenehm, viele Cafés und naheliegende Supermärkte. Ich habe mich sicher gefühlt auch im Dunkeln unterwegs zu sein.
  
  What could be improved: Ich habe nicht gewusst (es vielleicht aber auch überlesen), dass das Appartement im Souterrain liegt. Was nicht problematisch ist, aber gut zu wissen gewesen wäre. Leider fehlen Steckdosen. Eine am Bett zum Beispiel, um das Handy aufzuladen. Und es ist recht hellhörig. Sowohl was die Geräuschkulisse aus dem Treppenhaus als auch die von den daneben und darüber liegenden Wohnungen angeht.
