You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked into this ground-floor apartment on Traubenstraße, I actually forgot I was staying in what’s technically listed as a hotel. I mean, with 80 square meters to spread out in, it feels more like crashing at a friend’s really well-appointed flat in Stuttgart-West – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well.

The location is one of those happy accidents that locals keep quiet about. Hölderlinplatz itself is this lovely little pocket that most tourists miss entirely, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from the bustling Rotebühlplatz area where all the cafes and shops are. I spent my first morning just wandering the tree-lined streets around here, grabbing coffee from that excellent little rösterei on nearby Rotebühlstraße (the one with the blue awning – you’ll know it when you smell it). What’s brilliant is that you get all the perks of being central without the constant tram noise that hits the main drags. Being on the ground floor, I was initially worried about street noise, but Traubenstraße is surprisingly quiet, especially in the evenings.

The space itself feels genuinely lived-in rather than sterile hotel-clean, if that makes sense. There’s actual counter space in the kitchen where you can spread out your farmers market haul from the Saturday market at Wilhelmsplatz – which, by the way, is an easy walk and absolutely worth doing if you’re here on weekends. The whole setup works perfectly for longer stays or if you’re traveling with family and need room to actually exist rather than just sleep. I particularly loved the natural light streaming in during the day; those big windows face west so you get gorgeous afternoon sun without the morning glare. Parking was surprisingly straightforward too – there’s street parking that’s not impossible to find, and the host actually gave me solid tips about the residential permit zones (apparently locals park further down toward Hasenbergstraße where it’s less restricted). Small thing, but it matters when you’re hauling luggage and trying to figure out Stuttgart’s parking situation on your own. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it promises.

  What could be improved: Pas de place de parking prévue !!!!: Trouver une place de parking dans la rue (et même loin de l'appartement) après 16-17h00 est une mission impossible !!!!
  L'autre point négatif : seulement une seule clé alors que la porte d'entrée de l'appartement ne peut s'ouvrir qu'avec la clé (surtout ne pas sortir de l'appartement sans avoir pris la clé)

  Wir waren in der Wohnung zwei Tage und es fühlte sich tatsächlich wie Zuhause an. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war top. Sie ist auf alle Fragen schnell eingegangen. Die Wohnung war mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt und auch darüber hinaus. Die Lage ist auch gut. Restaurants, Bäckerei, Lebensmittelladen in der Nähe.
