Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Leuschnerstraße, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star apartment setup. But To&To really surprised me, and now I get why it’s sitting at an 8.6 rating. The building itself is pretty typical for Stuttgart-West (which, by the way, is actually one of the cooler neighborhoods if you want to avoid the tourist crowds downtown), but once you’re inside these two-bedroom apartments, it’s a different story entirely.

What really works here is that they’ve figured out the apartment-hotel thing without making it feel sterile or corporate. The kitchens are actually functional – I mean, you can cook real meals, not just reheat leftovers. The living spaces don’t feel cramped like so many European apartments do, and honestly, having two proper bedrooms makes all the difference if you’re traveling with family or don’t want to deal with your travel companion’s snoring habits. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout (tested it extensively during some late-night work sessions), and the whole place stays surprisingly quiet considering you’re right in the middle of a residential area. I was worried about street noise, but the windows do their job well.

Stuttgart-West is where you want to be if you’re done with the whole tourist bubble thing. You’re a quick tram ride to the city center, sure, but you’re also walking distance to some genuinely good local spots that most visitors never find. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible pretzels – the kind locals actually line up for at 7 AM. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood (honestly, most of Stuttgart is like this), but the To&To folks give you solid directions during check-in, and there are usually spots within a block or two if you’re patient. The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward lobby waiting or key-card confusion you get at bigger hotels. You know what I appreciated most? The place felt lived-in without being worn down. Like, the furniture wasn’t trying to win design awards, but everything worked properly and felt comfortable. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need after a long day of actually exploring a city instead of just photographing it.

  Easy check-in process.

  What could be improved: For us, it was not a problem, but notice there is no living room, only dining room.
  In the large bedroom, there is a small ceiling window. We did not find a way to darken it.

  The apartment was just great for our family of 5. It was clean and we have everything we needed.
  The location was perfect – close to transport stations, there was also a super market close by. The communication with the owners was easy. We appreciate there is a laundry room, despite that we did not manage to use it this time.
  
  What could be improved: When we arrived, the heating was off and it took time for the apartment to become comfortable. It would be nice the heating to be active in advance so the apartment is heated for its guests.
