Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Apart Business Hotel” I was expecting some sterile corporate box, but this place on Scharnhauser Straße actually surprised me. It sits in Plieningen, which honestly most tourists have never heard of, but that’s exactly what makes it interesting. You’re about 15 minutes from Stuttgart’s center by S-Bahn, but you get to experience this quieter residential side where actual Stuttgarters live and work.

The building itself has that clean, no-nonsense German efficiency thing going on – think modern lines and lots of glass, but not in a cold way. What really got me was stepping into the rooms; they’ve got this apartment-style setup that makes so much more sense than cramped hotel boxes. I mean, you get a proper kitchenette (not just a mini-fridge and sad coffee maker), decent-sized living areas, and – this is key – actual counter space to spread out your laptop and papers. The beds are solid too, none of that European separate-mattresses-pushed-together nonsense that keeps you awake wondering if you’re going to fall into the crack.

You know what I didn’t expect? How quiet it gets at night. Scharnhauser Straße has some traffic during the day, sure, but evenings are genuinely peaceful. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – there’s a decent bakery about two blocks down (get there early, the pretzels disappear by 10 AM), and the Plieningen S-Bahn station is an easy walk when you need to head into the city. Parking’s actually straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will appreciate. The staff seemed to genuinely know the area – when I asked about getting to the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the guy at reception didn’t just point me to a tourist map, he told me which S-Bahn connections would be fastest and mentioned that Tuesday mornings are way less crowded.

Here’s the thing though – this isn’t about luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. It’s more like staying in a well-organized friend’s apartment, if that friend happened to be really good at hospitality. The whole setup just works, especially if you’re in town for more than a couple nights or need space to actually get things done. That 8.7 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does really well.

  Plain looking hotel but with all the practical necessities in place . Everything was clean , beds were specially comfortable , and rooms and enough space . And free parking always feels friendly and welcoming . Good value for money . Will stay again if I happen to be around that area

  Large rooms with little kitchen and comfortable facilities. Located in a small village outside of Stuttgart. Perfect if you want to have a sleep before heading to the airport.
