The Lehenviertel itself is… well, it’s not the postcard-pretty part of Stuttgart, but that’s exactly what I ended up loving about it. You’re in Stuttgart-Süd, which means you’re living where actual Stuttgarters live – there’s a fantastic Turkish bakery about two blocks down that does these incredible börek pastries (the owner’s there every morning around 7), and honestly, the whole neighborhood has this lived-in authenticity that you just don’t get staying near the Schlossplatz. The apartment sits on a quiet residential street, so you’re not dealing with tram noise or late-night bar crowds, but you can still walk to the U-Bahn in maybe ten minutes. I mean, it’s not luxury by any stretch – this is solidly 3-star territory – but everything works, it’s clean, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try to be more than it is.

What surprised me most was how thoughtfully set up the space actually is. You know how some vacation rentals feel like someone just threw random furniture together? Not here. The kitchen’s small but functional (there’s even decent cookware, which – let’s be real – is rare), and the living area gets great afternoon light. The bed’s comfortable enough that I wasn’t counting down days until I could sleep in my own again, and the shower pressure is actually decent, which in older German buildings isn’t always a given. Parking can be a bit of a hunt during weekday mornings when everyone’s heading to work, but evenings and weekends aren’t bad. The check-in process was straightforward – no fancy digital locks or complicated key pickup situations, just practical and efficient. If you’re the type who needs concierge service and turndown chocolates, this isn’t your place. But if you want a genuine slice of Stuttgart life without the tourist markup, and you don’t mind being a short tram ride from the main attractions rather than walking distance, Apartment 15 delivers exactly what it promises. That 8.6 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there.
