You know what caught me off guard about City Hotel Stuttgart? It’s tucked right on Uhlandstr., which honestly feels like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood rather than some touristy bubble. I mean, you walk out the front door and there’s this genuine Stuttgart street life happening – locals grabbing coffee, people heading to work, that sort of authentic city rhythm you don’t always get when you’re visiting.

The hotel itself is pretty straightforward – it’s a solid 3-star place that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, which I actually appreciated. The lobby has this no-nonsense vibe, and check-in was refreshingly quick (the desk staff spoke excellent English, by the way). My room was clean and functional, nothing fancy but everything worked properly – good water pressure, decent Wi-Fi, and the bed was actually comfortable. The windows open wide, which is great for fresh air, though if you’re a light sleeper, you might notice some street noise in the mornings when the city starts waking up. It’s not terrible, just… urban, you know?

What really works about this place is the location situation. You’re in Stuttgart-Mitte, so you can walk to the main shopping areas and restaurants without dealing with public transport, but it’s not right in the thick of the touristy chaos either. There’s a great little bakery maybe two blocks down that locals actually go to – I kept seeing the same faces there every morning. And honestly, being on a regular residential street gave me a better sense of what Stuttgart actually feels like beyond the guidebook stuff. The parking situation is typical for German city centers (meaning slightly stressful), but there are options nearby if you’re driving. I’d probably recommend taking the S-Bahn in from the airport instead – much easier. Overall, it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a new city.

  Not far from the U tube. Staff very helpful and pleasant. We had an air-conditioner, not all rooms do! We were on the 4th floor and it was exceptionally quiet. They left drinks including beer in the fridge for us. We were referred to a very good German restaurant for dinner. Also given important advice for arrival at the train station in Stuutgart.

  Room was spacious for 3 and beds were very comfortable. There is no kettle in the room but there was a mini fridge. Location was great, within 10 mins of the central station and 5 mins away from the market area. Less than 3 mins walk down to a well stocked supermarket (Edeka).
  
  What could be improved: In summer, it was quite warm at night and there was only one standing fan. We tried opening the windows for ventilation but it was quite dusty and not recently cleaned.

  The rooms and amenities were clean and beds very comfortable. The Breakfast was also delicious, fresh foods and a great selection to choose from. Highly recommend.
  
  What could be improved: I missed having a kettle and Tea or coffee in the room – I think this would have been appreciated rather than the wine for purchase. We arrived late at night from a long train ride and a hot cup of tea or coffee would have been wonderful to be able to enjoy.

  Clean apartment and spacious. Breakfast was nice and basic
  
  What could be improved: The lift only goes up to the third floor and then you have to walk up a few flights of stairs if you’re staying on the fourth floor. My 60 year old mum struggled with this – the lift should be fixed so that it works all the way to the 4th floor. Music or something in the breakfast room would be good, it’s a small room and everyone is silent it’s really awkward
