Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking up to City Suite Gablenberg, you immediately get the sense that this four-star property knows exactly what it’s doing. The building sits confidently on Gablenberger Hauptstraße, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup — it’s polished without trying too hard. I mean, you’re not going to find marble fountains or doormen in white gloves here, but honestly, that’s part of what makes it work so well.
The Stuttgart-Ost Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Stuttgart — you’re actually in a neighborhood that feels real, not some sanitized tourist bubble. The Gablenberg area has this great mix of local cafes, small shops, and tree-lined streets that give you a genuine taste of how Stuttgart residents actually live. You can walk to proper restaurants where locals eat (not just the touristy spots), and there’s decent public transport connections when you want to head into the city center. Couples seem to absolutely love this location — and after spending time here, I totally get why they rate it so highly.
The Suites Themselves
The rooms at City Suite Gablenberg are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. You get proper space to spread out — these are actual suites, not just hotel rooms with a fancy name slapped on them. The kitchenette setup is genuinely useful if you want to grab groceries from the local markets and prepare something simple, though you know what, the neighborhood has enough good dining options that you might not bother. The furnishings feel contemporary without being cold, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase the entire time.
Getting Around and Exploring
One thing that really struck me about this location is how easy it makes exploring Stuttgart feel. You’re not stuck in some remote business district or tourist ghetto — this is a real part of the city with its own character. The public transport links work well when you want to hit the major sights, but honestly, some of the best discoveries happen just wandering around the immediate area. There are small parks nearby where you can actually sit and people-watch, plus the kind of local bakeries and corner shops that make a neighborhood feel lived-in rather than sterile.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is that balance between being refined and being real. You get the comfort and service level you’d expect from a four-star property, but without the stuffiness that sometimes comes with upscale hotels. The staff seems to understand that most guests want helpful information about the area rather than just polite smiles, and the whole operation feels efficiently run without being corporate. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a few days and actually feel like you’re experiencing Stuttgart rather than just passing through it — which, let’s be honest, is exactly what you want from a good hotel stay.

Reviews
Good value for the money – Winfried from United States – September 25, 2024 (8/10)
Location was good. Close to bus lines and groceries.
What could be improved: Second bedroom twin beds were very hard. Uncomfortable sleep.Comfortable stay. – Jeg from United Kingdom – July 26, 2024 (8/10)
It was as described and was a comfortable stay for our family of 4. All the facilities were there and in working condition. The owner is very helpful. Nice shower and the apartment was very clean.
Very Good – Giang from Germany – November 30, 2023 (8/10)
Perfectly fits with a group of friends and good for the value
What could be improved: Limited resources – only one cap for the dish washer; 2 caps for the washing machine and the hand soap gave us the feeling like it is diluted with a lot of water
The attitude of the cleaner was bad. Not to mention that when we arrived at 5:30pm, the apartment was not ready (the check-in time is 4pm)Wonderful – Triinu from Estonia – June 27, 2023 (9/10)
Cosy apartment in nice neighbourhood.
Apartment was spacious and had everything necessary.
The host was very friendly and gave us the location details beforehand so it was quite easy to find it.
What could be improved: Maybe to have some cupboards or hagers on the rooms to put away your clothes.Ideal alternative to a hotel when staying in Stuttgart. – Maggie from United Kingdom – March 7, 2025 (7/10)
The host met us to give us the keys and showed us the flat. The flat itself was clean and well maintained. There were facilities nearby such as supermarkets and it was close to a bus stop, making journeys into the centre very easy.
What could be improved: Nothing serious. The bedrooms could do with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. Also the only mirror was in the bathroom.
Minor issues really.Very Good – Janice from Taiwan – February 25, 2025 (8/10)
Host is very friendly and helpful. Bed is good.
The apartment is a most excellent alternative to a hotel stay for a family or friends together. – Lewis from Australia – October 9, 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was comfortable, with all facilities needed for a stay, within a hundred metres of a bus stop, with a nice pub opposite the stop, a bakery on the corner of the building entrance, a convenience store close by and an Aldi store ten minute walk away. A little further about 15 minutes walk but on the bus route to REWE store. The person we dealt with couldn't have been more helpful and friendly
What could be improved: The cooking utensils were a bit basic but sufficient to prepare meals which saved eating out all of the time, but there is a lack of hanging space in the bedrooms and only a couch in the lounge which was a bit tight for four people.Great value for money near city center – Lucija from Croatia – August 20, 2024 (8/10)
The apartment is well connected to the city center, the bus stop is close to the building. Everything was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable. Overall, it is great value for money.
What could be improved: The neighborhood is relatively noisy, especially on Saturday night when the residents of the building had a party until the morning. Also, when we were leaving, we didn't know where to leave the key, and the host didn't respond to messages and calls, so we were surprised with such communication, but in the end we managed and returned the key.2 bedroom apartment on (behind) Gablenberg high street – Marcel from United Kingdom – July 27, 2024 (8/10)
We did like that the apartment had two bedrooms which allowed our daughter to have her own room instead of having to sleep in the living room on a sofa bed.
What could be improved: The apartment is close to a few pubs. Because it was warm we had to keep our windows open and we could hear people singing and laughing until well after midnight during the weekend.
The kitchen had only one pan and a small saucepan which limited our cooking options for when we didn't wanted to go out for a meal. The kettle was broken and didn't turn itself off when the water had boiled.Nice 3 days in Stuttgart – Kai from Finland – May 6, 2024 (8/10)
Just OK basic accommodation in the eastern part of Stuttgart . Quiet location . Really good public transportation to the city and all places you want to visit . Also a market near to buy everything you need during your stay
What could be improved: Horrible smell of cigarette in the stairway and it also came to the apartment, also the bed linen had that same smell
