Hotel Description
You know what surprised me about Gästehaus Ziegler? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street called Blumenstraße, but you’re actually right in the thick of Stuttgart-Mitte – I mean, you can walk to Königstraße’s shopping madness in maybe eight minutes, but when you’re back at the hotel, it feels like you’ve escaped to someone’s well-kept neighborhood. The building itself has that classic German guesthouse charm without being stuffy about it. When I first walked up, I honestly wasn’t sure if I was at the right place because it looks more like a really nice apartment building than what Americans typically think of as a hotel, but that’s exactly what makes it work.
The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully simple – clean lines, good lighting, and everything you need without the clutter that bigger chain hotels seem to love. I stayed on the second floor facing the street, and honestly, I was worried about noise, but Blumenstraße is surprisingly peaceful even during the day. The bed was one of those firm European mattresses that I thought I’d hate but actually slept really well on. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details – decent hangers in the closet (you know how rare that is), a proper reading light by the bed, and the kind of blackout curtains that actually work. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with a shower that had real water pressure, which felt like a small miracle after some other places I’d stayed in Germany.
Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re positioned perfectly to experience Stuttgart like someone who lives there rather than just passing through. There’s a great bakery literally around the corner on Augustenstraße where locals queue up for weekend pastries, and you’re close enough to Marienplatz that you can grab the U-Bahn anywhere without it feeling like a trek. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood – when I asked about finding a good restaurant that wasn’t too touristy, they sent me to this excellent Swabian place on Eberhardstraße that I never would have found otherwise. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (street parking fills up fast), but they’ll point you toward the nearest garage. The 8.8 rating honestly makes sense – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works exactly as it should, and the location gives you that perfect balance of being central without feeling like you’re sleeping in the middle of a shopping district. If you want to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary Stuttgart resident, this is your spot.
Hotels near me in Stuttgart offer convenient access to the automotive district, where guests can easily walk to Mercedes-Benz Museum, Porsche Museum, and cultural venues.

Reviews
Convenient and rather good quality/price lodging with good location – Matthieu from France – July 16, 2025 (8/10)
The self-service check-in (though if some inhabitant of the building locks the downstairs door you could be locked out if late check-in, all you would have is a phone number to call).
The very spacious and quiet room.
The location in a very quiet street, close from tramway, and walking distance from city downtown, historic center and subway.
The gentle and accomodating personnel/landlord, though it was only through remote contacts.
What could be improved: During 3 days I actually never saw any personnel of the GastHaus, due to the fact I was getting up late and not using breakfast.
Reception service is there only a few hours in the morning.
Out of those hours, it will be self-service check-in and check-out.Overall not bad, but the Room is just to hot. – Rainer from United States – June 27, 2025 (9/10)
Did Not have breakfast.

I stayed in different kind of otel/guest houses in Europe and I'm very glad to say that, this was the one of the best. Perfect location; just 3 minutes to tramway. Every thing you may need considered. Very easy checkin and checkout process. Enough İnternet speed. Clean room.

The location was perfect for our 3 day stay in Stuttgart, the host was lovely and very helpful, breakfast was spot on, so l would recommend Gastehaus Ziegler if you are staying in Stuttgart
I definitely recommend Gästehaus Zeigler and would stay there again. – Danielle from Germany – April 3, 2025 (9/10)
Very clean and comfortable. Easy self-check-in. Perfect sized room for one person.
What could be improved: Thin walls so it’s easy to hear noise from hallway/other rooms. But since I know I’m a light sleeper, I brought earplugs.Exceptional – Joanna from Poland – March 22, 2025 (10/10)
Perfect stay. The location is very convenient. The place is run with care and attention. The host was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions. Check-in and check-out process super easy. The room has everything needed for a short stay. Heating working well. Definitely recommend it.
What could be improved: Be ready there is no elevator in the building.
