So I ended up at the Hafner Hotel Apartment on Strassburger Straße, and honestly? It’s one of those places that grows on you once you figure out what it’s actually about. The self check-in thing threw me at first – I mean, you literally just get codes texted to you and let yourself in whenever you want, which is pretty brilliant if you’re flying in late or just hate dealing with front desk small talk.

Location-wise, you’re right in Zuffenhausen, which I know sounds like nowhere to most tourists, but it’s actually pretty smart. You’ve got the S-Bahn literally a few minutes walk away, and honestly, getting into Stuttgart’s center takes maybe 15 minutes max. Plus – and this is something I didn’t expect – you’re basically in Porsche territory here. The Porsche Museum is practically around the corner, which explains why half the guests seem to be car enthusiasts who planned this whole thing out. The neighborhood itself is residential and quiet, not some tourist trap area where everything’s overpriced. There’s a decent bakery two blocks down on the main road, and the Turkish place next to the S-Bahn station does incredible döner if you’re into that sort of thing.

The apartment itself feels more like staying in someone’s guest room than a hotel, which works in its favor most of the time. Everything’s clean and functional – not fancy, but you know what, it doesn’t need to be. The kitchen setup is actually useful (shocking, I know), with a proper-sized fridge and a coffee maker that doesn’t require an engineering degree. The WiFi’s solid, parking is free right outside, and the whole building stays pretty quiet even though you’re on a main street. My only real gripe is that the shower pressure could use some work, and the walls are a bit thin – I could hear my neighbor’s TV the first night, though it wasn’t terrible. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s doing exactly what it promises without any bells and whistles, just done well enough that you’d book again. If you’re the type who needs room service and a concierge, this obviously isn’t your scene, but if you want independence and a decent base for exploring Stuttgart without paying city center prices, it actually hits the sweet spot pretty nicely.

  What could be improved: Door in the shower were broken and it was impossible to completely close it. One window was difficult to close, because it was also a bit broken – after 10 min of effort we eventually closed it.

  I needed an affordable place to sleep close to my friend's house and Hafner Hotel was my destination. Staff were nice. Room was clean.
  
  What could be improved: Water pressure in the bathroom was low. A water boiling Kettle would've been good. The room was overpriced in my opinion.
