You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Azenberg? It’s this perfectly positioned gem right on Seestrasse that somehow manages to feel both urban and peaceful at the same time. I mean, you’re literally in Stuttgart-Nord, which honestly gets overlooked by most tourists who stick to the city center, but that’s exactly what makes this spot work so well. The building itself has this solid, understated elegance – nothing flashy, just good bones and thoughtful updates that actually make sense.

The rooms are what I’d call “grown-up comfortable” – you’ve got space to spread out your stuff without tripping over furniture, and the beds are properly firm (thank god, because German hotels sometimes go way too soft). What really impressed me was the attention to sound insulation. I was expecting typical city noise, but honestly, even with the windows facing Seestrasse, it stays surprisingly quiet at night. The bathrooms are spotless and modern without being sterile, and there’s actually decent water pressure, which – let’s be real – isn’t always guaranteed even in four-star places.

But here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the location is incredibly practical in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. You’re a short walk to the U-Bahn connections that’ll get you anywhere in Stuttgart without the tourist crowds, and there’s this whole network of local spots nearby that feel authentically Stuttgart rather than sanitized for visitors. The hotel staff actually knows the neighborhood – I asked about finding a proper German bakery for morning pastries, and the front desk person didn’t just point me toward the nearest chain but recommended this family-run place three blocks over that’s been there for decades. That kind of local knowledge makes such a difference when you’re trying to get beyond the guidebook version of a city. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street (typical for this part of town), but they’ve got arrangements that work, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of obvious amenities, just efficient and friendly. The 8.5 rating honestly feels about right; it’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Stuttgart, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re traveling.

  Personal was very friendly, we had a nice and clean room. The breakfast was with a big variety, fresh and tasty. Bed were comfortable. The pool was sadly a bit too cold to use. There was a sauna and also a little gym to use aswell.

  The room, the breakfast, the staff were very helpful. I went recently with my son to visit the BOSS ATP tennis tournament. The hotel location is great and very close to the stadium.

  Only stayed for one night and chose this hotel due to it's locality to Kräherwald parkrun but would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to visit Stuttgart. Firstly the welcome we received was by far the warmest welcome I have ever experienced in a hotel reception, the lady that checked us in was so nice and took time to show us around the facilities and make us feel welcome.
  
  The room, although small was well furnished, comfortable and clean. We ate in the rear garden of the hotel, the serving staff were very attentive and the food was lovely and reasonably priced. We had planned to use the swimming pool before leaving but didn't have time however we did go down and check out the facilities and it was all very clean and well maintained.
  
  I would highly recommend this hotel for value for money, comfort and friendliness.
  
  What could be improved: Only gripe for me is the €8 charge for parking but I suppose you can't have everything.
