Hotel Description

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Berg on Karl-Schurz-Strasse, you’ll notice it’s not trying to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s refreshing. This three-star property sits quietly in the Stuttgart-Ost district, where the streets feel more residential than touristy. The building has that solid German architecture you’d expect, nothing flashy but well-maintained. I mean, sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well without all the fuss. The exterior showcases classic German design elements with clean lines and practical functionality that speaks to the region’s architectural heritage.

The Stuttgart-Ost Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re in Stuttgart but away from the chaos of the city center. Stuttgart-Ost has this neighborhood feel where you’ll find local cafes and shops that aren’t overrun with tourists. The couples who stay here seem to get it (they rate the location 8.2, which makes sense). You can actually walk to the main attractions, but when you come back in the evening, it’s peaceful. The public transport connections are solid too, so you’re not stuck out here if you want to explore further. The nearby tram stops provide easy access to downtown Stuttgart’s shopping districts and cultural venues.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star place. Clean, comfortable bed, decent-sized windows that let in good light. Nothing groundbreaking, but the air conditioning worked properly and the Wi-Fi was reliable — you know, the stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. The bathroom was compact but functional, with a shower that had proper water pressure. Sometimes the simple things make all the difference. The furnishings are modern and practical, with adequate storage space for extended stays.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

Okay, so the breakfast here actually surprised me. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers vegetarian and vegan options really well — not just an afterthought like at some places. Fresh bread (this is Germany, after all), good coffee, and they clearly put effort into having variety without going overboard. I watched them restock things regularly, so nothing sat there getting stale. For a three-star hotel, they’re definitely punching above their weight with the morning meal. The dining area is bright and welcoming, making breakfast feel like a genuine highlight of the stay. Local specialties and international options ensure every guest finds something appealing.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests have been rating the location 8.3, and after spending time here, I get why. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Stuttgart life without sacrificing convenience. The staff seems to genuinely care about making sure things run smoothly — not overly chatty, just professional and helpful when you need something. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or fancy amenities you’ll never use, but you are getting a solid base for exploring the city. The value for money here is genuinely impressive, and repeat visitors clearly appreciate what the hotel delivers. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need for a memorable and comfortable stay.

Is a nice-cozy hotel. Not central but very close to themetro station which makes easier the arrival. The room was extremely clean and confortable. On theother side of the street there is a bakery where you can have an expresso or eat something
the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
I arrive late and the process to get the key was very easy.
The communication was one of the best ever

What could be improved: The room for breakfast should be a bit bigger.

  • Very Good – Ágnes from Hungary – October 18, 2022 (8/10)

Clean and tidy. Hotel crew was super kind and helpful.

What could be improved: Heating was not on, we were freezing during the night.

  • Decent hotel for a short stay – Srushti from Germany – October 7, 2024 (6/10)

The room was okay and clean, check-in system even after reception hours was easy.

What could be improved: Room was much smaller than I had expected, and felt very stuffy. The street outside was pretty loud, people talking loudly, or cars driving by playing loud music in the middle of the night.

  • Good – Yuanyu from Taiwan – June 12, 2024 (7/10)

What could be improved: no evalator, bed is too soft to sleep

  • Nice – Bjarte from Norway – November 6, 2023 (7/10)

The smallest hotelroom ever, but excellent designed it made it roomier and more efficient than rooms called upgrades in other hotels.

What could be improved: Lights in front of the door when arriving. Had to use phone light to see the instructions.

  • Very Good – Frederick from Hong Kong – November 3, 2023 (8/10)

good value for the money, staff very helpful

What could be improved: location off center

  • Good – A from United States – October 2, 2023 (7/10)

The location was close enough to the festival where we could walk to it and that the main reason why we stayed there. Didn't eat the breakfast but it looked ok

What could be improved: A couple of more towels for the bathroom, but other than that it was fine for what I needed it to be

  • Practical, clean and quiet. – Lutz from Germany – September 13, 2023 (8/10)

I had a one person room. It was small but absolutely acceptable and clean. I arrived late but the access had been provided for. Very easy. I had come by motorcycle and could easily park it on the street below my window.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain.
