Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Flora Möhringen, you immediately get the sense this is a place that knows its audience. It’s not trying to be flashy or pretentious — just a solid three-star hotel that does the basics really well. The building sits quietly on Filderbahnstraße, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. You’re in Stuttgart‘s Möhringen district, which I’ll admit isn’t the most exciting part of the city, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels genuinely local rather than touristy.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I really appreciate about this spot — couples consistently rate the location 8.7 out of 10, and after staying here, I totally get why. You’re close enough to Stuttgart’s center that getting there isn’t a hassle, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with constant city noise. The S-Bahn connections are actually pretty decent from this area, which means you can explore without renting a car. Plus, there’s parking right at the hotel, which honestly saves you a headache if you do drive — finding parking in German cities can be brutal.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star property — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are updated enough that you don’t feel like you’re stepping back in time. What struck me most was how quiet it was at night — you know how some hotels have paper-thin walls? Not an issue here.
Breakfast & Daily Rhythms
The breakfast buffet is where Hotel Flora really shows its strengths. It’s not enormous, but everything they do have is fresh and well-maintained throughout the morning. You get your standard German breakfast fare — good bread, decent coffee, fresh fruit that actually tastes like fruit. I mean, it’s not going to change your life, but it sets you up properly for the day. The dining area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you’re an early riser like me, getting there by 7:30 gives you more space to breathe.
Why Guests Love It
What really tells you something about a place is when people keep coming back — and apparently, Hotel Flora has more repeat guests than most properties in the area. After staying here, that makes complete sense. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers your preferences, where things just work without drama, and where you feel like you’re getting honest value for your money. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or celebrity chef restaurants, but you are getting a genuinely pleasant stay in a city that can be surprisingly expensive. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Quiet area of Stuttgart about 20mins on the train from the city centre. The village is superb with all the facilities you would need in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
Hotel is 5mins walk away from the metro station. Nice sized room with comfortable bed. Also had a balcony which was great to sit out in the evening.

What could be improved: We have to pay for the parking.Wonderful – Alesia from Belarus – August 7, 2023 (9/10)
We arrived at Sunday, and there were some problems with check-in, but they were quickly resolved. The entrance to the hotel is a bit hidden which honestly adds up to the general feeling of cosiness and quiet privacy. Also there were really nice packages in the bathroom, for makeup remove, shoe polishing and a sewing kit, wery thoughtful.
Also the location is really great is you plan to visit the Palladium theater (which was my main destination) – it's only about 20 minutes walk.
What could be improved: Breakfast could've been a bit more diverce, but that's a minor thing honestly, like in general it was okay.Good stay, lovely staff, convenient place and good breakfast – Marissa from Netherlands – July 31, 2023 (7/10)
Convenient place, nice people and good breakfast
What could be improved: No airconditioning, very soft bedA great base for exploring around Stuttgart – Desmond from United Kingdom – July 16, 2023 (8/10)
Situated in a small village about 5 tram stops away from Stuttgart . All the staff were friendly and spoke English which was a benefit to us both.
What could be improved: Due to the extremely warm weather the rooms were warm. However they supplied us with large fans to help cool the rooms
