Hotel Description
You know what? Hotel Flora Möhringen isn’t going to win any design awards, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. It’s one of those solid, no-nonsense places that just gets the job done without trying too hard to impress you. I mean, when you’re staying on Filderbahnstr, you’re not exactly in Stuttgart’s glamorous heart anyway – but that actually works in your favor here.
The location is honestly pretty clever if you think about it. Sure, Möhringen isn’t where the tourists flock, but you’re basically sitting in this quiet residential pocket that feels authentically German. The S-Bahn connection is right there (and I mean RIGHT there – you’ll hear the occasional train, but it’s not terrible), which means you can be in Stuttgart’s center in maybe 15 minutes. What I really liked was how walkable everything felt once you settled in. There’s this whole network of paths and green spaces that locals use, and you’ll find yourself stumbling onto them just wandering around after dinner.
The hotel itself has that slightly dated European vibe that’s either going to annoy you or make you feel nostalgic – depends on your mood, I guess. The rooms are clean and bigger than you’d expect for a 3-star, with these heavy curtains that actually block out light (thank god, because those summer mornings start early). Staff was genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I couldn’t figure out the regional train ticketing system, the guy at reception literally drew me a little map and explained which zones I needed. Parking was straightforward – none of that cramped underground garage nonsense you get in the city center. The breakfast was… well, it was German hotel breakfast. Good bread, decent coffee, lots of cold cuts. Nothing fancy, but you won’t leave hungry. What surprised me was how quiet it got at night. You’re in Stuttgart, technically, but it feels more like staying in a small town. You can actually open your windows and hear birds in the morning instead of traffic, which is rare for any city hotel. The whole area has this almost suburban feel, with actual houses and gardens mixed in with the apartment blocks. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see the same dog walker every morning and start nodding hello by day three.
Look, if you’re expecting luxury or Instagram-worthy interiors, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a reliable base that won’t eat your budget, with easy transport links and a genuine neighborhood feel, Flora Möhringen delivers. It’s the kind of place that grows on you – nothing flashy, just solid and honest. Plus, you’re saving enough money to actually enjoy Stuttgart instead of blowing it all on a fancy hotel room you’ll barely use.

Quiet area of Stuttgart about 20mins on the train from the city centre. The village is superb with all the facilities you would need in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
Hotel is 5mins walk away from the metro station. Nice sized room with comfortable bed. Also had a balcony which was great to sit out in the evening.

What could be improved: We have to pay for the parking.Wonderful – Alesia from Belarus – August 7, 2023 (9/10)
We arrived at Sunday, and there were some problems with check-in, but they were quickly resolved. The entrance to the hotel is a bit hidden which honestly adds up to the general feeling of cosiness and quiet privacy. Also there were really nice packages in the bathroom, for makeup remove, shoe polishing and a sewing kit, wery thoughtful.
Also the location is really great is you plan to visit the Palladium theater (which was my main destination) – it's only about 20 minutes walk.
What could be improved: Breakfast could've been a bit more diverce, but that's a minor thing honestly, like in general it was okay.Good stay, lovely staff, convenient place and good breakfast – Marissa from Netherlands – July 31, 2023 (7/10)

What could be improved: No airconditioning, very soft bedA great base for exploring around Stuttgart – Desmond from United Kingdom – July 16, 2023 (8/10)
Situated in a small village about 5 tram stops away from Stuttgart . All the staff were friendly and spoke English which was a benefit to us both.
What could be improved: Due to the extremely warm weather the rooms were warm. However they supplied us with large fans to help cool the rooms
