Stammheim isn’t exactly central Stuttgart, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. You’re in a proper residential area where locals actually live, not just another tourist bubble. The free private parking is a godsend if you’re driving — and trust me, having a car here makes exploring the wider Stuttgart region much easier. I noticed quite a few couples during my stay, which makes sense given how peaceful the neighborhood feels. You’re close enough to reach Stuttgart’s center when you want the city buzz, but far enough out to actually get some quiet at night.

The Rooms

The rooms at Hotel Freihof are what I’d call thoughtfully simple. Nothing fancy, but everything you need is there and it all works properly — which is more than I can say for some places that cost twice as much. The beds are comfortable enough that I actually slept well, and the bathrooms are clean and functional. You know what I appreciated most? The windows actually open properly, so you can get fresh air instead of being stuck with recycled AC all night.

Breakfast Experience

The buffet breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be for a three-star place. They’ve got the German breakfast essentials covered — good bread, proper cold cuts, decent coffee — but they also throw in some nice touches that show they’re paying attention. I mean, it’s not going to change your life, but it sets you up well for the day and the dining room has a pleasant, unhurried atmosphere where you can actually wake up properly.

  The hotel is located in a quiet residential area. It is 26 minutes away from the Schlossplatz via UBahn. Our room was big enough for us. Bed was comfortable. Staff is accommodating and helpful to all our questions.
