Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Restaurant Krehl’s Linde in Bad Cannstatt, you immediately get the sense this is a place that takes both hospitality and food seriously. It’s one of those three-star properties that punches well above its weight — honestly, the moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The building has character, and there’s this warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves.
Location & Neighborhood
Bad Cannstatt might not be the first district that comes to mind when you think of Stuttgart, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re away from the tourist crowds yet still perfectly connected to everything that matters. The location on Obere Waiblingerstr puts you in a genuinely residential area where you can experience how locals actually live. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot 8.5 out of 10, and after spending time here, I get why — it’s got that sweet spot balance of authentic neighborhood feel without being inconvenient.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, though don’t expect cutting-edge design or flashy amenities. What you get instead is solid, no-nonsense accommodation that’s been thoughtfully maintained. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to practical details — good lighting for reading, reliable wifi, and windows that actually open properly for fresh air.
The Restaurant
Here’s where this place really shines, and honestly, it’s what sets Krehl’s Linde apart from other hotels in this category. The restaurant downstairs isn’t just an afterthought — it’s clearly a point of pride. The food quality genuinely surprised me; we’re talking about meals that would hold their own at dedicated restaurants around the city. The kitchen turns out both traditional German dishes and more contemporary options, and they’ve clearly put thought into accommodating different dietary needs. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or dealing with gluten sensitivities, they’ve got you covered without making it feel like an accommodation.
Why Guests Love It
The breakfast buffet deserves special mention — it’s one of those spreads that makes you want to linger over coffee and actually plan your day instead of rushing out. Continental options, fresh local ingredients, and again, those dietary accommodations that show they’re paying attention to what travelers actually need. Parking is available right at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Stuttgart by car will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, and there’s this refreshing absence of corporate hospitality script-reading. Recent guests consistently rate their experience highly, and after staying here, I understand the appeal — it’s authentic, comfortable, and delivers on the things that actually matter during a trip.

Old Fashioned but clean. Overpriced. Stuff is friendly and helpful but not joyful. Breakfast is not my thing, with Smarties, Gummis Bears and Chocolate fille cookies from the Supermarket.
Super unhealthy, but can find breaks, cheese, saussage, eggs, muesli and yoghurt. Quality ok.Good – Frank from Ireland – June 5, 2025 (7/10)
Very nice staff

Good location not far from center and local (Bad Cannstatt) center – Kuzmin from Russia – August 22, 2024 (7/10)
Location and the facility itself was great together with personnel and breakfast included
The hotel is in an excellent location close to the S-Bahn station, which has great links into the city and airport. The – Adams from United Kingdom – June 28, 2024 (9/10)
Lovely staff, excellent location and a fantastic breakfast!
What could be improved: We were put in the ‘Cinderella room’, which had a small single bed and a double. I booked for 3 adults and we weee 3 friends staying in Germany for the football. We didn’t ask to move as we were only there for 2 nights.Great hotel with comfortable amenities, limited parking options. – Sara from Germany – June 13, 2024 (8/10)
Love that it’s not a franchise hotel. Great hospitality and love the traditional vibes. There is a restaurant on location that is excellent and cute courtyard to enjoy when weather is nice!
What could be improved: The location is a bit of a challenge for parking. Fees can be on the higher end at the parking garage next to the hotel (not a part of the hotel). There is a bus station near the hotel that would be ideal but you still have to pay parking fees and then a bus pass if you leave your vehicle to travel by bus.
