Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Restaurant Krehl’s Linde in Bad Cannstatt, you immediately get the sense this is one of those places locals have been quietly enjoying for years. It’s tucked along Obere Waiblingerstraße, and honestly, the building has that solid, unpretentious charm that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something authentic rather than touristy. The fact that it’s both a hotel and restaurant tells you everything — this is a place that takes hospitality seriously, not just accommodation. The welcoming atmosphere extends throughout the property.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Bad Cannstatt is actually one of Stuttgart’s most interesting districts, though plenty of visitors never make it here. You’re close enough to the city center that getting around is easy, but far enough out that you’re experiencing where real Stuttgart life happens. The location consistently gets high marks from guests — couples especially seem to love it here, rating it 8.5 out of 10. I mean, there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that feels genuinely local rather than just another hotel district. The area offers excellent public transportation connections.
Comfortable Accommodations
The three-star rating here feels honest — you’re not getting marble bathrooms or turndown service, but your room will be clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. What I appreciate is that they’ve focused on getting the basics absolutely right rather than trying to be something they’re not. The 8.4 overall rating from guests backs this up — people consistently leave satisfied because their expectations were met and often exceeded in small, meaningful ways. Each accommodation features modern amenities and comfortable furnishings.
The Food Experience
Here’s where Krehl’s Linde really shines — the food is genuinely excellent. Guests rave about the meals, and after staying here, I completely understand why. The breakfast spread is particularly impressive, covering all the bases with continental options, plus vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices. It’s served buffet-style, which means you can actually fuel up properly for a day of exploring Stuttgart. The restaurant side of the operation clearly influences everything they do with food, and it shows. The culinary team demonstrates real skill and attention to detail throughout their menu offerings.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back is the combination of genuine hospitality and practical advantages — like having parking available right at the hotel, which anyone who’s driven in Stuttgart will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The staff seems to understand that good service doesn’t mean being overly formal; it means anticipating what travelers actually need. You know what really sets this place apart though? It feels like staying with people who genuinely care about your experience, not just processing another booking. For the price point and the authentic Stuttgart experience you get, Krehl’s Linde delivers exactly what it promises. This is a destination worth considering for your next visit to the region.

Old Fashioned but clean. Overpriced. Stuff is friendly and helpful but not joyful. Breakfast is not my thing, with Smarties, Gummis Bears and Chocolate fille cookies from the Supermarket.
Super unhealthy, but can find breaks, cheese, saussage, eggs, muesli and yoghurt. Quality ok.Good – Frank from Ireland – June 5, 2025 (7/10)
Very nice staff

Location and the facility itself was great together with personnel and breakfast included
The hotel is in an excellent location close to the S-Bahn station, which has great links into the city and airport. The – Adams from United Kingdom – June 28, 2024 (9/10)
Lovely staff, excellent location and a fantastic breakfast!
What could be improved: We were put in the ‘Cinderella room’, which had a small single bed and a double. I booked for 3 adults and we weee 3 friends staying in Germany for the football. We didn’t ask to move as we were only there for 2 nights.Great hotel with comfortable amenities, limited parking options. – Sara from Germany – June 13, 2024 (8/10)
Love that it’s not a franchise hotel. Great hospitality and love the traditional vibes. There is a restaurant on location that is excellent and cute courtyard to enjoy when weather is nice!
What could be improved: The location is a bit of a challenge for parking. Fees can be on the higher end at the parking garage next to the hotel (not a part of the hotel). There is a bus station near the hotel that would be ideal but you still have to pay parking fees and then a bus pass if you leave your vehicle to travel by bus.
