Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking into Motel One Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, you immediately notice how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between modern design and genuine comfort. The lobby has this sleek, contemporary vibe that feels fresh without being cold — honestly, it’s way more stylish than you’d expect from a three-star property. The staff greets you with that efficient German friendliness, and check-in is refreshingly straightforward. You can tell right away that this isn’t your typical roadside motel despite the name.
Location & Neighborhood
Bad Cannstatt is actually one of Stuttgart’s best-kept secrets, and this hotel sits right in the heart of it on Badstrasse. You’re walking distance from the Cannstatter Wasen (where Oktoberfest’s bigger cousin happens), plus there are authentic local restaurants and beer gardens that most tourists never discover. The area feels genuinely German rather than touristy, which I really appreciate. What’s brilliant is that you can easily hop on public transport to reach Stuttgart’s city center in about 15 minutes, but you get to experience a more residential, lived-in part of the city. Couples seem to particularly love this setup — the location scored an impressive 8.8 rating from recent guests.
The Room Experience
The rooms follow Motel One’s signature design philosophy — clean lines, smart use of space, and everything you actually need without unnecessary frills. The beds here are genuinely exceptional; I mean, they’ve been highly rated specifically for comfort, and you’ll understand why after your first night. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re cleverly designed so nothing feels cramped. You get a good workspace, decent storage, and a bathroom that’s compact but well-thought-out. The soundproofing is solid too, which matters when you’re staying in a busy neighborhood.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The breakfast buffet is where this three-star hotel really punches above its weight. It’s comprehensive without being overwhelming — fresh bread, local meats and cheeses, plus the usual international options. The coffee is actually good, which isn’t always a given at German hotels. What I particularly appreciate is that they offer private parking right at the hotel, which is honestly a godsend in Stuttgart where parking can be a nightmare. You know what’s nice? They don’t nickel and dime you for basic services, and the whole operation just runs smoothly.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel works because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. You’re getting solid comfort, smart design, and a location that lets you experience Stuttgart like a local rather than just another tourist. The combination of those incredibly comfortable beds, the authentic neighborhood setting, and the easy access to both local attractions and the city center creates something special. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly with that good breakfast, and feel like you’re staying somewhere with character rather than just another generic hotel room.
Hotel in Stuttgart booking should be done early, especially during major auto shows when the city hosts internationally significant automotive events and exhibitions.

Very Good – Ulrike from Australia – July 28, 2025 (8/10)
Convenient location. Stylish design.
What could be improved: Room doors are too heavy and are a concern for elderly and kids.Wonderful – Ian from Germany – July 9, 2025 (9/10)
The beds were great. They are memory foam mattresses, and surprisingly comfortable. Great shower, and not a bad size bathroom. The room itself was quite small, but for one night, was fine. It was quite hot in the room, but we opened the windows, which let lots of fresh air in. Slept very well all in all.
What could be improved: I know it didn't come with tea making facilities, but it would be nice to have the option.Very basic hotel with parking garage. – Stuart from Italy – July 5, 2025 (7/10)
Off street secure parking (€15,)with a decent breakfast.
