Here’s what I love about Plieningen — it’s technically part of Stuttgart, but it feels like you’re in a proper German town with tree-lined streets and local bakeries. You’re about 20 minutes from Stuttgart’s city center by public transport, which means you get the best of both worlds: easy access to the main attractions without the urban noise. The parking situation is fantastic too — free private spots right at the hotel, which anyone who’s driven in German cities will tell you is worth its weight in gold. Couples seem to particularly appreciate this area, and I can see why — it’s got that romantic, small-town vibe while still being well-connected.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-maintained German hotel — clean lines, quality furnishings, and everything working perfectly. The beds are properly comfortable (none of that rock-hard nonsense you sometimes get), and the bathrooms are spotless with good water pressure. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details — proper blackout curtains, decent WiFi that actually works, and enough electrical outlets where you need them. It’s not fancy, but it’s thoughtfully done.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast here is one of those continental buffets that actually makes sense — fresh bread from local bakeries, proper German cold cuts and cheeses, plus the usual suspects like cereals and fruit. I mean, you’re not going to find exotic superfoods or anything, but what they do have is quality stuff. The coffee is decent too, which matters more than people realize when you’re starting your day. There isn’t a full restaurant on-site, but honestly, Plieningen has some lovely local spots within walking distance if you want dinner.

  We liked everything. When you’re travelling for awhile and living out of a suitcase it was refreshing to have some space and even a bathtub! Restaurant on site, shops close by. Carpark on site!

  The woman at the front desk was very nice, I like the vintage style of the hotel , bed was very comfy and clean.
