Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the ibis Styles Stuttgart Vaihingen on Ruppmannstrasse, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s tucked away in this sort of business district that feels a bit removed from the main Stuttgart action, but you know what? That actually turned out to be one of its biggest strengths. The whole area is surprisingly quiet for a city hotel, and there’s something refreshing about not having to deal with the chaos of the city center when you’re trying to get a decent night’s sleep.
The lobby hits you with this modern, colorful vibe that’s clearly trying to shake off that sterile chain hotel feeling – and honestly, it works. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful (not just going through the motions), and I appreciated that they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations. My room was on the third floor, and while it’s not going to win any design awards, everything felt fresh and thoughtfully laid out. The bed was surprisingly comfortable for a 3-star place, and the shower – well, let’s just say German engineering doesn’t disappoint, even in budget-friendly hotels. The walls aren’t paper-thin either, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed.
What really sold me on this place though was the location once you understand it. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from the Schlossplatz, but Vaihingen has this whole thing going on that most tourists miss. There’s a decent bakery just down the street that opens ridiculously early (perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag), and the S-Bahn connection is actually pretty seamless – you can be in the city center in about 20 minutes without the headache of driving through Stuttgart’s maze of construction zones. Plus, if you’re here on business, half the tech companies seem to be in this area anyway. The hotel’s breakfast was better than expected too – nothing fancy, but they had proper coffee and local breads that didn’t taste like cardboard. Parking was straightforward, which anyone who’s tried to park in central Stuttgart will appreciate. I mean, it’s not the most glamorous neighborhood for evening entertainment, but there’s a solid restaurant scene if you know where to look, and the hotel staff actually seemed to know which places were worth your time versus the tourist traps.
The concierge service in Stuttgart can arrange exclusive factory tours, secure ballet tickets, and organize visits to nearby Black Forest and Swabian wine regions.

The staff were very helpful after we could not park in the car park. Due to our car numberplate could not be recognised by the cameras, so we had to park at staff car park which was closer for us. Very clean rooms.
What could be improved: The bins just near the hotel going towards the tram line are very unattractive, they where full af stuff and smelly. It's not on the hotel premises but not giving any justice to the place.lvery good – Domingo from United Kingdom – August 4, 2025 (8/10)
