You know what caught me off guard about KernerApartement? I expected another generic city hotel, but this place actually feels like you’re staying in someone’s thoughtfully designed home – if that someone happened to have incredible taste and a 9.8 rating to prove it.

The location on Kernerstrasse is honestly perfect if you want to feel like a Stuttgart local rather than a tourist. You’re right in Mitte, which means you can walk to pretty much everything that matters – the Staatsgalerie is maybe ten minutes on foot, and you’re close enough to Königstrasse for shopping without being stuck in the chaos. I mean, you’ll hear some street noise during the day (it’s a city, after all), but nothing that kept me up at night. What I really appreciated was how easy it was to grab groceries at the REWE around the corner – sounds mundane, but when you’re staying somewhere with a proper kitchenette, these things matter more than you’d think.

The apartment itself is where this place really shines. Everything feels deliberately chosen rather than just purchased in bulk from some hotel supply catalog. The kitchen actually works (shocking, I know) – not just a sad mini-fridge and a coffee maker that might work if you’re lucky. I’m talking full-sized appliances, quality cookware, the kind of setup where you could actually make a decent meal if you wanted to skip restaurants for a night. The bed was one of those situations where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole, and honestly, after walking around Stuttgart all day, that hit the spot perfectly. Small detail that stuck with me – the shower had proper water pressure, which you don’t always get in older buildings around here.

What really sets KernerApartement apart is this attention to detail that you only notice when it’s missing elsewhere. Fresh flowers when I checked in, local coffee beans in the kitchen, even restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the tourist traps everyone suggests. The whole place felt clean in that effortless way that suggests they actually care about maintenance rather than just doing the bare minimum between guests. Parking was surprisingly manageable too – there’s a garage nearby that won’t completely destroy your budget, though honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re settled in.

Look, Stuttgart isn’t always the easiest city to fall in love with at first glance, but staying somewhere like this definitely helps. You get that residential neighborhood feel while being close enough to everything that matters. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s polished and comfortable without being stuffy or overly formal. And that 9.8 rating? After staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it nails all the things that actually make a difference when you’re traveling.

  What a lovely place with everything that you need in a home away from home – brilliantly presented, clean and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone to relax or come together. The host communication was absolutely fantastic from the time of booking until we left, making sure the trip was enjoyable and easy. We will definitely return – You couldn’t ask for more! The Christmas markets in Stuttgart topped off a great few days.
  
  What could be improved: The location is terrific, although uphill from the old town but that does not detract from how lovely the apartment is or the proximity to everything you need. There is public transport close by if you feel a little tired at the end of the day.
