You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first pulled up to this place on Schmidener Straße – the building looks pretty ordinary from the outside, just another residential block in Bad Cannstatt. But once you get inside this two-bedroom apartment, it actually delivers on that “moderne gemütliche” promise in the name. The space has this really nice balance between feeling homey and being properly equipped for travelers. I mean, it’s not fancy luxury or anything, but everything works and feels thoughtful – the kind of place where someone clearly put effort into making guests comfortable rather than just cramming in the cheapest furniture possible.

The location is actually pretty smart if you know Stuttgart at all. Bad Cannstatt gets overlooked by a lot of visitors who think they need to stay right in the city center, but honestly? You’re maybe 15 minutes on the S-Bahn to Hauptbahnhof, and the neighborhood has this authentic feel that the touristy areas just don’t have. There’s a solid Turkish bakery about three blocks down that does incredible börek in the mornings, and you’re close enough to the Neckar that you can actually walk along the river when the weather’s decent. Plus – and this matters more than you’d think – parking isn’t the nightmare it is in central Stuttgart. The apartment comes with a spot, which probably saves you 20 euros a day and a lot of stress.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile. The kitchen actually has proper knives and decent pans (you’d be amazed how rare that is), the shower has good pressure, and there are these little touches like having actual coffee in the cupboard when you arrive, not just those terrible instant packets. The Wi-Fi works properly too – I was doing video calls without any issues. The only minor thing is that Schmidener Straße can get a bit noisy during rush hour since it’s a main thoroughfare, but honestly it quiets down by evening and the windows are decent quality. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that just works well for what it is. Not trying to be something fancy, just a solid, comfortable base for exploring Stuttgart that won’t break the bank and actually lets you experience the city like someone who lives here rather than just passing through.

  The apartments are thoughtfully filled with little things that are not required to be provided, but are sometimes so necessary during a trip. For example, in the bathroom there were a couple of packages of feminine hygiene products, so handy for us. Thank you for your care and sensitivity.

  Everything was excellent, from the appartment equipment – all you need is there, parking, location (really easy to get downtown Stuttgart). The apartment was clean, and light.

  The apartment is really nice, the kitchen was well equipped, the bed comfortable and the parking was great.
  
  What could be improved: The absence of communication from the host the moment we arrived. We were not informed which room or apartment door. My son went to all the floors to find the apartment on the top floor. We had 3 big luggage, the building didn’t have an elevator. We wanted to wash some clothes but we were not told which one we could use. All my questions were left unanswered by the host! Check out is at 10am, I asked for a late check out of 10:30am but still no response.
