First Impressions

Walking into ROSS Hotel in Stuttgart’s Plieningen district, you immediately get that feeling of a well-run three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The lobby is clean and modern without being flashy — honestly, it’s exactly what you want after a long day of travel. The staff greeted me warmly, and I could tell right away this wasn’t going to be one of those places where you feel like you’re bothering people just by existing.

Location & Getting Around

Plieningen might not be the first neighborhood that comes to mind when you think of Stuttgart, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re about 20 minutes from the city center by public transport, which means you get the best of both worlds — easy access to Stuttgart’s main attractions without the noise and chaos of staying right downtown. The area feels residential and peaceful, perfect for couples looking for a quieter base (which explains why so many pairs end up loving this place). There’s free parking right at the hotel, which honestly saved me a fortune compared to what I would’ve paid in the city center.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what I expected from a solid three-star hotel — comfortable bed, decent-sized bathroom, and everything you need without unnecessary frills. The decor is contemporary but not trying too hard to be trendy, which I actually appreciated. You know what really impressed me? The attention to small details like good lighting for reading and enough outlets near the bed for charging devices. The windows open properly too, which is something you don’t always get in newer hotels.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast buffet here is genuinely good — not just “good for a hotel breakfast,” but actually good. They’ve got a solid selection of fresh bread, local meats and cheeses, plus the usual suspects like eggs and pastries. I mean, it’s not going to change your life, but you’ll definitely start your day satisfied. The restaurant area has a nice atmosphere in the morning with plenty of natural light, and the coffee is strong enough to wake you up properly.

  The bed and showers were very comfortable. Really felt comfortable. Also clean beds and showers.
  
  What could be improved: The interior like, cupboards, cabinets, the tv, etc. felt a little outdated when it came to looks. Could use a small make-over to the looks of the room. But overall not bad.

  We found this lovely hotel close to the Stuttgart airport for two nights.
  In spite of the proximity to the airport, there was no noise from the planes. It's a quick 15 minute drive to Stuttgart city center. The room was large and very clean with modern furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. There is plenty of parking on the street parallel to the hotel. You can find restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood but not walking distance from the hotel. It you have a car, this hotel is a great option.
