You know what caught me off guard about The Serviced? I was expecting some sterile corporate housing situation – I mean, the name doesn’t exactly scream “cozy getaway” – but these design apartments in Plieningen actually have personality. The building on Scharnhauser Straße looks pretty modern from the outside, nothing too flashy, but once you’re inside it’s clear someone put real thought into the spaces. The apartments feel more like a friend’s well-designed flat than a hotel room, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.

Plieningen itself is this quiet residential area that most tourists completely skip, but that’s actually what makes it work so well. You’re far enough from Stuttgart’s center to avoid the tourist crowds and late-night bar noise, but the S-Bahn connection means you can still get downtown pretty easily – though I’ll warn you, it’s about a 25-minute ride, so factor that in if you’re planning to hit the city every day. What I really loved was walking around the neighborhood in the mornings; there’s something refreshing about being in an area where actual Germans live and work, where you’ll find proper bakeries and local spots instead of overpriced tourist traps. The apartments themselves are surprisingly well-equipped – I’m talking full kitchens that you’d actually want to cook in, not those sad hotel kitchenettes with a broken microwave. The design leans modern without being cold, lots of clean lines but comfortable furniture that doesn’t look like it came from an IKEA showroom floor.

What really sells this place is the attention to small details that matter when you’re settling in somewhere. Good water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think), blackout curtains that actually block light, and – this might sound weird but hear me out – proper hangers in the closets, not those flimsy things that fall off the rod every time you touch them. The staff seem to get that people staying here aren’t just passing through for one night; they’re genuinely helpful without being hovering, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or anything – it’s a solid 3-star operation – but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable space that feels like home base while you explore. That 8.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there; it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, just doing the fundamentals really well in a part of Stuttgart that gives you a different perspective on the city.

  Great rooms. with bathroom and kitchen facilities these are more like comfortable and clean studios.
  Only 10 minutes driving from the exhibition centre and airport.

  The property was very modern. Interia of the apartment was nice , clean and at a good standard.
  
  What could be improved: Some of the furnishing’s was worn. Sofa bed was Brocken in places. And we couldn’t get the air con to work. The top level was so hot because of this.

  Spacious,Tastefully decorated, everything new and clean ,kitchen fully equipped, not so far from Stuttgart, bus stop is at the door step of the building , airport is 12-15 minutes from away.

  What could be improved: Car parking is so narrow and one of them is at angel position , how comes first picks the good location, cloth washing room not accessible.

  Quiet location, very clean, good facilities, host Luca was lovely and very helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Quite far out of city centre, but easy enough to get to on public transport as the bus stop is right outside. Our room was a bit small for a family of four for 5 nights, but there are large rooms available.
