So I stumbled across The Smart Living Nest during a work trip to Stuttgart, and honestly? The name had me curious – I mean, what exactly is a “smart living nest” anyway? Turns out it’s this surprisingly thoughtful little 3-star spot tucked away on Gomaringer Straße in Degerloch, which is actually perfect if you want to avoid the tourist crowds but still get into the city center easily. The whole area has this residential vibe that feels authentically Stuttgart, you know? Not some sterile hotel district.

What really caught me off guard was how much attention they’d put into the small stuff. The rooms actually live up to that “smart” promise – everything’s designed to make sense, from charging stations that are exactly where you’d want them to proper lighting for actually reading in bed. The nest metaphor isn’t just marketing fluff either; there’s something genuinely cozy about how they’ve set things up. I stayed during a particularly rainy October week, and honestly, I found myself looking forward to getting back there each evening. The staff seemed to know their regulars by name, which tells you something about the kind of place this is – people come back.

Degerloch itself is one of those Stuttgart neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often miss. You’re up on the hillside with some genuinely beautiful views over the valley, and the U-Bahn connection (Degerloch station is a short walk) gets you downtown in maybe 15 minutes. But here’s the thing I really appreciated – you can actually walk to some fantastic local spots that have nothing to do with the typical tourist circuit. There’s this bakery about three blocks away that does incredible Laugenbrezeln, and the whole street has that lived-in German neighborhood feel where you’ll hear more German than English, which I love. Parking was straightforward too, unlike some places in Stuttgart where you’re circling for twenty minutes.

The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Stuttgart, but what it does, it does really well. I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge, but you are getting thoughtful design, genuinely helpful staff, and a location that gives you the best of both worlds. The wifi actually worked properly (not always a given, let’s be honest), and the whole place felt clean and well-maintained without being sterile. If you’re the type who appreciates when small details are done right – like having enough outlets, good water pressure, and windows that actually open properly – you’ll get why this place works.

  Smart Living Nest Stuttgart was a fantastic place to stay—clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The location is excellent, with easy access to public transport, supermarkets, and cafes. Check-in was smooth, and communication with the host, Denis, was always quick and efficient. The apartment had everything I needed, including a well-equipped kitchen and fast Wi-Fi. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Stuttgart.

  El apartamento está genial. Todo es nuevo, super limpio y lleno de domótica. Tiene todas las comodidades para hacerte sentir mejor que en casa. Cocina completa incluso con horno, lavadora, secadora, aire acondicionado… Sin duda alguna , repetiremos en nuestra próxima visita. Ideal para parejas o familias con niños a partir de 4-5 años

  What could be improved: Die Kommunikation mit der Person, mehrmals angerufen nie dran gegangen. Die Zimmern waren klein für eine Familie, für 2 3 Tage ok aber sonst eher nicht. Eine sehr sehr steile Treppe mit Kleinkinder sehr gefährlich aber auch für Erwachsene mit viel Gepäck nicht das beste und äußerst anstrengend.
