Hotel Description
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Waldhotel Stuttgart, I wasn’t expecting much — it’s tucked away in the Degerloch district, which feels more residential than touristy. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special. This four-star property sits quietly among the trees, and there’s something genuinely peaceful about the whole setup. The fact that they have parking right on-site was already a win in my book, especially since it’s free and private.
The Degerloch Advantage
I’ll be honest — Stuttgart isn’t always the easiest city to navigate, but staying in Degerloch actually worked out better than I expected. You’re elevated above the city center, which means cleaner air and way less traffic noise. The area feels almost village-like, with local bakeries and quiet streets where you can actually walk without dodging crowds. What surprised me most was how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot — I mean, the location gets a 9.1 rating from pairs, and after spending a few days here, I completely understand the appeal.
Sleep Quality That Actually Matters
Look, I’m pretty picky about beds when I travel, and the room here delivered in ways I wasn’t expecting. The mattress had that perfect firmness that doesn’t leave you tossing around all night, and the pillows — well, they actually had options, which is rarer than you’d think. The whole setup felt thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. I noticed they have quite a few repeat guests, and honestly, after experiencing how well I slept here, that makes total sense. The quality of rest you get here is genuinely impressive.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast buffet situation here is solid without being overwhelming. They’ve got the German basics covered — good bread, local cheeses, proper coffee — but they don’t go overboard trying to impress with fancy stuff that doesn’t taste right anyway. I appreciated that they seemed to focus on quality over quantity, and the restaurant area has these big windows that let in natural light, which beats those windowless hotel dining rooms you sometimes get stuck with. The dining experience sets a positive tone for your day.
Why Guests Love It
What really struck me about Waldhotel Stuttgart was how it manages to feel both relaxing and practical at the same time. You’re not in the thick of Stuttgart’s hustle, but you’re not stranded either — getting into the city center is straightforward enough when you want to explore. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making things work smoothly, and there’s this understated quality to the whole place that grows on you. I mean, when a hotel consistently gets guests coming back, that usually tells you something real about the experience beyond just the marketing. This property truly delivers on its promise.

Beautiful!
Cozy hideaway in the woods, very well connected to the city! – Megan from Germany – May 17, 2025 (9/10)
Verdant secret location, out of the city in the forest, but immediately adjacent to the metro which takes you into the center in 10 minutes. Super friendly staff; every interaction with front desk or bartenders was an absolute pleasure, and they were so kind about speaking English. The room was clean and modern with a super comfortable bed, marble shower with great pressure, and ours had a nice little Terrasse outside on the expansive green garden. It was such a pleasure to open the doors to the fresh air outside from the forest! We didn't have a chance to use the sauna, but thought it was lovely that the facility was available and robes were provided in the room.
What could be improved: The room came with a Nespresso machine and coffee accoutrements, which we appreciated, but the off-brand capsules were just not good. I think nespresso brand in a gentle roast would have been a preferable start to the day.Relaxing and comfortable stay. Well looked after in a beautiful setting – Samantha from Germany – May 2, 2025 (10/10)

Room was very clean and spacious. Big shower and comfortable bed.
What could be improved: Pillows were a bit big, but that's a personal issue.Really exceptional value for the price – Ross from Singapore – January 2, 2025 (10/10)
It really felt very premium, especially for the price. It was clean and comfortable and the room was beautiful.
What could be improved: Its location is quite isolated in a park by a sports area some distance from the city, but there is a metro stop nearby.Exceptional – Colton from United States – December 12, 2024 (10/10)
How big the room was and the nice quiet hotel
What could be improved: One of the waitresses wasn’t the nicest and paying for parking
