Hotel Description
First Impressions
Walking into Motel One Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, you immediately get that “oh, this is way nicer than I expected” feeling. I mean, the name says “motel” but honestly, this three-star property feels more like a boutique hotel that just happens to be really well-priced. The lobby has this sleek, modern design with pops of color that somehow manage to feel both trendy and welcoming — not an easy balance to strike.
The Bad Cannstatt Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Bad Cannstatt instead of central Stuttgart — you’re actually in a proper neighborhood where locals live and work. The Badstrasse location puts you right in the heart of this historic district, and you know what? It’s genuinely charming. You’ve got the Cannstatter Wasen just a short walk away (that’s where they hold the second-largest Oktoberfest in Germany, by the way), plus the mineral baths that gave this area its name. The S-Bahn connections into the city center are frequent and quick, so you get the best of both worlds.
Sleep Quality That Actually Matters
Let me tell you about the beds — because honestly, this is where so many hotels fall short. The room I stayed in had one of those mattresses that’s firm enough to support you properly but soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping on a board. The blackout curtains actually work (shocking, I know), and the air conditioning keeps things comfortable without sounding like a jet engine. It’s the kind of setup where you wake up feeling rested instead of wondering why hotel sleep is always terrible.
Morning Fuel and Practical Perks
The breakfast buffet is solid — nothing fancy, but they’ve got all the German staples plus some international options that don’t taste like cardboard. Fresh bread, decent coffee, and enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. What really impressed me though was the parking situation. Having your own spot at a hotel in Germany? That’s actually a big deal, especially when you’re trying to explore the region by car. No circling blocks looking for street parking or paying ridiculous daily rates at some distant garage.
Why Guests Love It
The location rating of 8.8 from couples makes perfect sense once you spend time here. Bad Cannstatt has this relaxed, authentic vibe that’s perfect for exploring together — whether you’re wandering along the Neckar River or discovering the local wine bars. The neighborhood feels safe for evening strolls, and there’s something romantic about staying somewhere that feels more like a local secret than a tourist trap. Plus, when you can actually get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed, it just makes everything about your trip better.
Hotel in Stuttgart booking should be done early, especially during major auto shows when the city hosts internationally significant automotive events and exhibitions.

Very Good – Ulrike from Australia – July 28, 2025 (8/10)
Convenient location. Stylish design.
What could be improved: Room doors are too heavy and are a concern for elderly and kids.Wonderful – Ian from Germany – July 9, 2025 (9/10)
The beds were great. They are memory foam mattresses, and surprisingly comfortable. Great shower, and not a bad size bathroom. The room itself was quite small, but for one night, was fine. It was quite hot in the room, but we opened the windows, which let lots of fresh air in. Slept very well all in all.
What could be improved: I know it didn't come with tea making facilities, but it would be nice to have the option.Very basic hotel with parking garage. – Stuart from Italy – July 5, 2025 (7/10)
Off street secure parking (€15,)with a decent breakfast.

Really very good and nothing to complain about – Michael from United Kingdom – November 14, 2024 (9/10)
It's a Motel One so you know what you're going to get. welcoming entrance, friendly staff. Small but clean and comfortable rooms, hassle free experience
What could be improved: Only that breakfast is rather expensive and there's no coffee making facilities in the rooms
