Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a Motel One in Bad Cannstatt – I mean, it’s not exactly the postcard part of Stuttgart. But this place on Badstrasse actually surprised me in the best way. The moment you walk in, there’s this crisp, modern lobby that feels more boutique than budget chain, with those signature design touches Motel One does well. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions, and they actually knew the neighborhood when I asked about dinner spots nearby.
The location is sort of perfect if you know Stuttgart at all. You’re right in Bad Cannstatt, which locals will tell you is where the real Stuttgart happens – less touristy, more authentic. The Cannstatter Wasen (where Oktoberfest’s older brother takes place) is practically next door, and you can walk to the Neckar riverfront in about five minutes. What I really loved though is how connected you are – the U-Bahn stop is maybe a three-minute walk, and from there you’re in Stuttgart’s city center in like fifteen minutes. No dealing with driving into the pedestrian zones or paying those brutal parking fees in Mitte.
The rooms themselves are compact but smart – everything has its place, and the bed was actually comfortable, not just hotel-acceptable. The shower had proper water pressure, which you know matters after a long day walking around. I stayed on the third floor facing the street, and yes, there’s some traffic noise from Badstrasse, but nothing a pair of earplugs couldn’t handle. The air conditioning worked well during my July visit, which isn’t always a given in German hotels. Honestly, for a three-star place, they’ve nailed the essentials without trying to be fancy about it. The breakfast was solid – nothing revolutionary, but good coffee and enough variety to fuel your morning. You know what really sold me though? The whole area comes alive in the evenings with locals heading to the traditional Swabian restaurants along Wilhelmsplatz, and you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than in a tourist bubble. For the price point and that 8.3 rating, it makes total sense – this is what good value looks like when you’re not sacrificing location or comfort.
Hotel in Stuttgart booking should be done early, especially during major auto shows when the city hosts internationally significant automotive events and exhibitions.

Very Good – Ulrike from Australia – July 28, 2025 (8/10)
Convenient location. Stylish design.
What could be improved: Room doors are too heavy and are a concern for elderly and kids.Wonderful – Ian from Germany – July 9, 2025 (9/10)
The beds were great. They are memory foam mattresses, and surprisingly comfortable. Great shower, and not a bad size bathroom. The room itself was quite small, but for one night, was fine. It was quite hot in the room, but we opened the windows, which let lots of fresh air in. Slept very well all in all.
What could be improved: I know it didn't come with tea making facilities, but it would be nice to have the option.Very basic hotel with parking garage. – Stuart from Italy – July 5, 2025 (7/10)
Off street secure parking (€15,)with a decent breakfast.

It's a Motel One so you know what you're going to get. welcoming entrance, friendly staff. Small but clean and comfortable rooms, hassle free experience
What could be improved: Only that breakfast is rather expensive and there's no coffee making facilities in the rooms
